Christmas in Vibal: All about outreach and community-building
The spirit of kindness and sharing was not lost in Vibal as its hundreds of employees celebrated the holidays last December.
In keeping with the company’s initiative to give back to the community, departments raised funds to donate to beneficiaries of their own choosing.
For the Marketing Department, funds raised through garage sales and raffle activities were spent on grocery items—soap, canned goods, noodles, and rice—for the Aeta community of Porac, Pampanga. Marketing Associates engaged students in lessons on Social Studies, Math, Science, and Values and conducted storytelling sessions.
“The immersion was a very fulfilling experience,” Head of Customer Service Kristoffer Vargas reflected. “We saw how their faces lit up when they played games, learned new things, and when served the food we prepared.”
Vibe Technologies, Vibal’s technology arm, chose street children as beneficiaries. Computer engineers and we developers gave gifts of toys and groceries to the children and staff of Tahanan ng Pag-ibig ni Barbara Micarelli Foundation on December 15, 2017. The children were also treated to a day of storytelling and gift-giving.
“The kids performed a thank-you presentation for us after and it made me realize that we need to continue uplifting the spirits of these children to make their future even a little bit better,” Data Science Associate Kate Villaflor mused.
In keeping with the company’s goal of reaching out to the community to give back, all Vibal employees are encouraged to conduct outreach activities throughout the year. To share this spirit of kindness, Vibal created this video featuring the children of the Religious Missionaries of the Divine Saviour.
