Vibal Employees Spend Christmas with Children, Elderly

February 8th, 2017

Christmas season of 2016 saw Vibal employees out of the office, partnering with different organizations to share love and gift bags with their chosen beneficiaries. This is in keeping with the company’s goal of doing more for the community, aside from producing high-quality educational materials and technology solutions.

Publishing Department reached out to children with cancer at the National Children’s Hospital with the help of Chummy Chum, a non-profit organization that connects private groups to pediatric cancer patients from wards and halfway houses. Acting as Santa Clauses to the sick children, members of Publishing, led by Department Manager Mark de Guzman, asked the patients for personal wishes and granted them during a Christmas party on December 3, 2016. The children were also given hygiene kits, learning materials, and little pillows.

Creatives Department also opted for children beneficiaries when they held their outreach program on December 10, 2016. Led by Creatives Department Manager Arnold Gawad, Vibal graphic designers and layout artists raised funds for the Religious Missionaries of the Divine Savior. Orphans from Rodriguez, Rizal enjoyed face painting activities, puppet shows, and parlor games. They also received grocery items and rice.

“We just wanted to give back because we’ve been so blessed. We also tried to teach the children to share even the smallest blessing they get in the spirit of kindness,” Wally Rocha, a member of the Creatives Team, reflected.

General Services Department set out for Golden Reception and Action Center for the Elderly and other Special Cases (GRACES) in Bago Bantay, Quezon City on December 22, 2016 to celebrate Christmas with the elderly. Lolos and lolas feasted on spaghetti, pancit, and sandwiches, and received necessary supplies, such as tissue paper, milk, and diapers.

More outreach programs are set to occur this year to kick off Vibal Cares, one of Vibal’s most recent intiatives. This program aims to teach Vibal employees the value of selflessness and is one of the ways through which the company hopes to give back to the community.
