#Throwback: Vibal Creates FEU Cultural App

March 30th, 2017

More than 60 years after the publication of its first academic magazine, Vibal Group has come a long way to establish itself as an education company. But what has the integrated education and technology firm accomplished in terms of technology?

In 2014, Far Eastern University (FEU) approached Vibal Group with an interesting project—creating a mobile app that would serve as a source of information about the university’s programs, events, and galleries. The following year, Vibe Technologies, Vibal Group’s technology arm, released the FEU Cultural App.

The FEU Cultural App originally featured information about the university, a handy campus map, and even tributes to Philippine National Artists. But the highlight of the app is its updates on FEU’s cultural events, performances, and galleries. It became easy for students and faculty to get notified and to check in on FEU exhibits and concerts.

This year, expect enhancements on the cultural app as Vibe works on additional features. An improved user interface, an events calendar, and trivia quizzes are just some of the things to look forward to in the next update.

“We are very happy to be tapped by FEU for this project,” Product Management Head Abi Echano said. “We look forward to working more with them in terms of providing tech solutions.”

Vibal’s custom mobile applications development services have produced significant mobile apps, such as De La Salle Zobel’s official mobile app iZoob, Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines’ (CEAP) CEAP App, and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ (DENR) Alerto Pinoy, among others.

The FEU Cultural App is available for both Android and iOS via Google Play Store and Apple Store.
