Vibal Group partnered with SM Cares and Philippine Board on Books for Young People (PBBY) for two celebrations of the 34th National Children’s Book Reading Day on July 18, 2017 at the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) and the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Complex.

“We are very pleased to be part of this event that promotes the love of reading above all else,” Vibal’s Head of Education Services Sarah Benito said. “Vibal’s one true goal has always been to make Filipino students more intelligent with books and technology.”

Aside from offering its books for sale at CCP with PBBY, Vibal donated 7,080 books to SM Cares for distribution to public schools nationwide.

The events featured exciting activities for the student participants, including a storytelling session with Binibining Pilipinas 2016 Miss Intercontinental Jennifer Hammond. Students cheered as the beauty queen read Fernando Rossi’s Bumabara-Bara-Bara, one of Vibal’s Chikiting Books.

Both events were held with the goal of raising the literacy rate and encouraging the love of reading among Filipino children.
